When you need a new windshield

It's time to replace — not just repair — when you see any of these:

  • A crack in the driver's line of sight, where even a good repair leaves distortion.
  • Cracks that reach the edge of the glass, which weaken the whole windshield.
  • Long cracks (generally more than a few inches) or several chips across the glass.
  • A chip or crack that has already started spreading.
  • A previous repair that failed or is still visible and growing.
  • Shattered or caved-in glass after a collision, break-in, or large impact.

Not sure which camp you're in? Send us a photo and we'll give you an honest call.

How we install your windshield

A windshield is a structural part of your car — it supports the roof and backs your passenger airbag — so installation quality matters. Our process:

  1. Confirm the exact glass for your year, make, and model, including sensors, heating, antenna, and acoustic layers.
  2. Protect the interior and remove the damaged windshield.
  3. Clean and prep the pinch weld and frame so the new bond is sound.
  4. Apply fresh urethane adhesive and set the new glass with proper alignment.
  5. Let the adhesive cure, then clean up and inspect the install and seals.
Safe drive-away time: the urethane adhesive needs time to cure before the windshield is at full strength. We'll tell you the safe drive-away time for your specific job before you get back on the road — please don't rush it.

Hail and highway debris in North Texas

Most Dallas windshield replacements we see come from two causes: rock and debris kicked up on highways like I-35E (Stemmons Freeway), US-75 (Central Expressway), and I-635 (LBJ Freeway), and spring hail storms that crater the glass. If yours is hail-related, our hail repair-or-replace guide walks through the insurance steps.

Mobile windshield replacement

We bring the replacement to your home, office, or fleet lot. To do it safely we need a spot with safe, legal parking, room to work around the vehicle, and dry weather while the adhesive sets. More on mobile service →

What it costs

Price depends on your exact vehicle, the glass it takes, and whether it has windshield cameras that need recalibration. Our guide breaks it down: how much windshield replacement costs in Dallas →

Windshield replacement — FAQs

When does a windshield need to be replaced instead of repaired?

Replacement is usually needed for cracks longer than a few inches, any damage in the driver's line of sight, cracks that reach the edge of the glass, multiple chips, or a failed prior repair. Short chips and small cracks away from the edge can often be repaired instead.

Do you replace windshields with cameras and sensors?

Yes, we replace windshields on vehicles with forward cameras and sensors. If your vehicle requires ADAS recalibration, we'll let you know and point you to where it can be completed so your safety systems work correctly.

Can you replace my windshield at my home or office?

In most cases, yes — we're mobile across the Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW) metro. Mobile work requires safe, legal parking and dry weather. Some jobs are better done in a controlled setting; we'll tell you up front.

Will insurance pay for my windshield replacement?

In Texas, windshield damage is generally a comprehensive claim, and some policies include reduced- or zero-deductible glass coverage. We can help you check your coverage and file, but coverage and deductibles depend on your specific policy.
